Even greener

  • I have been working hard for the best part of a year now, developing the Spanish / Irish / Scottish links... and have even found some in my hometown, Gainsborough, in Lincolnshire.  It has been a very rewarding year in terms of research and travel, and I am now looking at reaping the rewards.  The Anthology by the Inkslingers, launched in May 2019, contains accounts of my early years in Competa. Then Competa went green!

I am very active in environmental matters these days and, with links to Ulster Scots Agency and more in Spain - Chiclana and Girona - I am all set for another great year.  Even better, in August I  linked art and the environment and will start Art College next week!  I went to Figueres, birthplace of Salvador Dali and of course to the wonderful exhibition of two hundred of his works in Cadaques.  What an uplifting experience.  It solidified my interest in art brought about by the girls in Lurgan college when we were designing the "passport" to the North Highland Way.

I hope businesses in the Axarquia will engage with the LetsGoNorth meets LetsGoSouth project.  Lots of promotion on the web site at www.letsgoexploring.co.uk.
