  • To celebrate World Diabetes Day, a seminar is being organized entitled “How diabetes affects our body”. This event will take place in the “Edificio de Colores” in Fuengirola on the 12th of November and this disease will be explored by different health professionals explaining distinct elements including nutrition, and how diabetes affects the eyes and the feet.

    The event is being organized by Specsavers Ópticas in Fuengirola, in collaboration with the Social Wellbeing Department of the Fuengirola Town Hall, the Podiatry Centre for the Costa del Sol and the Doctor Gómez Trujillo Clinic. It aims to raise public awareness of the need to lead a healthy life to prevent this disease, as well as advise and inform patients on how to live with diabetes and control it for life.

    It will begin at 19.30 and will feature presentations in Spanish by Diabetes Specialist, Doctor Francisco Miguel Gómez Trujillo, the podiatry specialist and Director of the Podiatry Centre Costa del Sol, Rocío Rovayo Guerrero and Assistant Optician David Bradshaw who will be accompanied by optometrist Amrik Sappal, Director of Specsavers Ópticas Fuengirola.

    The attendees will be able to ask questions and share their doubts and concerns after the talk. Also, at the beginning of the evening, attendees will be able to network and enjoy drinks and snacks.
