To get ready for the first day of SPRING we suggest you add something special to your calendar and join Playa Patrol to SPRING CLEAN THE BEACH on Saturday, March 23! Grab a pair of gardening gloves and a bucket (no plastic bags please), and rally a group of friends to help keep our sea plastic free.
One of our Costa Women Costa Tropical members is looking for your support on Saturday, March 23. Ann Jenkins, originally from Canada and now living full-time in La Herradura (just next to Nerja), recently started a not-for-profit association called PLAYA PATROL. She has a challenge for all 27 chapters of Costa Women!
For those of you that live near La Herradura or Almuñécar, it would be great if nearby Costa Women would REGISTER a TEAM for one of the three schedule beach clean up events on Saturday March 23 from 10:00-11:30am. But if you belong to one of the other 27 Costa Women groups, it would be great to CREATE A LOCAL BEACH CLEAN UP with other Costa Women, friends and family! Just head down to your local beach to show a little love to your local beach or riverbed. Don’t forget the gardening gloves and a bucket or pail (no plastic bags please). Post a picture to social media and tag @PlayaPatrolBeachCleanUp (Facebook) or @Playa.Patrol (Instagram) to show you want to help keep our sea plastic free.
There are three Community Beach Clean Up events in 2019 that take place in La Herradura and Almuñécar run from 10:00-11:30am and occur on Saturday March 23, Sunday June 30 and Sunday September 22. More details can be found on the Events Section of the Playa Patrol Facebook page. If you would like to be a Team Captain at any of the upcoming community beach clean up events, please contact Ann@Playa-Patrol.com or call +34.690.773.507 (English) or + 34.681.620.593 (Spanish). Playa Patrol is also seeking bilingual Ocean Ambassadors to help coordinate future beach clean up events in Salobreña and Motril.
