The number of bogus representatives from gas companies is on the rise, many copy uniforms and even carry around a mobile terminal so their victims can pay by credit card. Remember that any official inspection should have been notified to you by the gas company and, if in doubt, either ask for a copy of the person’s DNI and take a photo with your mobile (if the person is really from the gas company this shouldn’t be a problem) or tell them you need to call and verify with your gas company first. But, more importantly, NEVER pay the person who visits your home – all official inspections should be paid through your bank account or on your normal gas bill.
