Costa Women Meet ... Maxine Warner

Maxine Warner has brought her special singing talent with her to Spain and now spends her days giving back to the community with her shows and a Wibberly Wobberly Tooth

Why Spain?

My family lived here 500 years ago and I have traced back to then this is where my heart and soul is. I now live in Benalmadena.

What has been the biggest challenge for your move?

Waiting for my duel passport so I can live here permanently I have had my home here for over 20 years.

You have a singing career, tell us more

I sang all my life made a record at 16 sang for all the Royal family. I have done TV many times and sang at the famous London Palladium and so much more. I’ve raised 1000s and still do for charities with our show From Pop to Opera For me I just want to put smiles on faces and give back from the amazing career that I’ve had.

Something you have achieved?

Too many wonderful things I have been blessed. All my goals were achieved from pure hard work now its time to give back. From my Maxine Warner youtube channel, I share over 100 clips.

I also wrote a children’s book – The Wibberly Wobberly Tooth with 12 songs and recorded them to sit alongside the book.

Whilst you have had a long singing career what is your very special moment?

Singing for Her Majesty, The Queen and most of all the royals with our function band Lemon Tree.

Who would you invite to your special dinner party?

My door is always open famous or not there will always be a place and plenty of lovely food for anyone.

What song is most poignant for you?

Two – ‘You raise me up’. My Father died when I was 19 he missed all my achievements but his wisdom taught me to never give up always be respectful and charitable.

‘You’ll never walk alone’ that was our last song at the end of the night and the words my mum asked me to write down for her just before she died in St Annes Hospice.
