Paige Lefley moved to Spain to share her vocal talent with us.  She believes in the importance of not overthinking and that young hearts really can run free. Read her story.

Why Spain?

I moved to La Cala de Mijas to work in a Restaurant.

And where are you now?

Fuengirola. There’s lots to do. People are friendly. The weather is great most of the time.

What was the biggest challenge for your move?

Being away from all my family and friends to move to a place I knew no one or had ever been. I am a very social person so I went out and met new people and made some great friendships through my work.

Do you have any advice for Women thinking about making the move?

Just go for it!

What do you get up to in Spain?

As a self employed singer, I have regular gigs around the coast. I also work remotely for Vencosan Green Energy company organising local expat help events and supporting local charities. Most days I work, but in my spare time I like to listen to my music, rehearse with the band and spend time with my puppy Thor-Dio. The first market I went to for Vencosan in Velez Malaga I was pitched opposite the dog rescue lady.. within ten minutes I had adopted Thor. He was 7 weeks old.

What’s your secret weapon or accomplishment?

Work hard and just do it.

Do you have a favourite song?

I have many but I love Candi Staton – Young Hearts Run Free.

One thing you had to bring to Spain and could never give away?

My blanket I bought from Camden Market and took to Mallorca with me when I worked for TUI. It has many memories.

Do you have a favourite film?

Coyote Ugly” – I love the dancing, the singing and found the story really inspiring growing up.

Something you would tell your younger self?

Stop worrying about your weight and over thinking and do what you want to do. Just be happy.
