Costa Women Meet Fabienne Prévot

After retiring, Fabienne Prevot moved to the sunny coastal town of Torrox, seeking a simpler life among white villages by the sea. Initially challenged by making friends, she built connections through her women-focused radio show and founding an association to foster self-confidence. Read her story.

Why Spain?

My aim for moving to Spain was of spending my retirement in the sunshine and facing the sea: goodbye big cities, hello white villages.

And where are you now?

Based in Torrox, I live there and will stay there forever.

Fabienne Prevot

What was the biggest challenge for your move?

My biggest challenge was making friends so I took up the challenge by creating and hosting a radio show dedicated to women on Radio Torrox.

Do you have any advice for Women thinking about making the move?

Dare, because life is short, and discovering a new culture is always full of valuable lessons

How do you fill your days?

Alongside my radio show (Historia de Mujeres), I created an association (Confianza y Más) to help women develop self-confidence.

What is something spectacular you would like to achieve?

I will perform my one-woman show ‘C’est tout moi’ again, this time in Spanish.

Something you are grateful for?

My simple, down-to-earth relationships with the local people.

Who would be at your special dinner party?

At my dinner party I would have Nelson Mandela for his fight, Bruce Springsteen for his music, Albert Camus for his vision of the world…

What’s your secret weapon?

Energy and positive thinking.

Do you have a mantra you live by?

To believe and to love.

One thing you had to bring to Spain and could never give away?

My curiosity and my love for others are both the basis and strength of every human project.

Do you have a favourite book?

Albert Camus’s Nuptials, a magnificent vision of summer in the Mediterranean.
