Why Spain?
Following various holiday breaks for the sun and snow I decided that I wanted to learn the Spanish language and obviously the best way to do that is to live in the actual country.
And where are you now?
I am based in Mijas Costa which is perfect for the Summer sun and only a short drive away from Sierra Nevada in Granada to enjoy the Winter skiing seasons!
The beaches are amazing and full of different choices according to your particular taste.
Here live and work both native Spanish and seasoned residents from many different countries, which brings such a variety of people, experiences and opportunities to meet and make friends, work possibilities and different lifestyle environments.
What was the biggest challenge for your move?
Leaving my family and friends in another country and indeed for the first couple of years I used my holidays to go back for frequent visits, but I soon realised that they could come over on holidays and enjoy the advantages of sunny Spain!
Do you have any advice for Women thinking about making the move?
Connect with people who have already taken the same step, ensure that you have a trusted personal property shopper to guide you to your heart felt home location and property which truly suits your current possibilities and desired lifestyle.
Describe your usual day?
I love to wake up with gratitude meditation to set the positive day ahead, then I enjoy going out in nature to take my chihuahua “Valentino” for his morning walks.
I have recently moved to a ground floor apartment and have a fabulous side terrace to use for potted plants. I also love to “rescue” unhealthy bonsais from the shops and create them from young plants bought at the local markets.
Having spent almost 30 years as a personal trainer I use my front terrace for daily TRX exercise, rebounding and weight training, when I can mix it into my busy schedule!
My days are spent on property investigations, client connection, viewings and notary appointments for signing, etc. Not forgetting social media promotion for my Chante Real Estate work.
I love the company I work with as they are authentic people, who sincerely have their heart in the right place 💜
I support local animal charities and send insistent notes to SEPRONA, requesting investigations when I see anything untoward!
What is something spectacular you would like to achieve in just one day?
To help people become conscious to the present situation in this world and it’s reality, in order that we can make some amazing, positive changes to preserve natural nature and our daily existence relating to health and wellness.
Something you are grateful for?
I am grateful to be me and my achievement to have arrived at the exiting age of 67 and still be growing and giving.
Who would be at your special dinner party?
Gosh, so many!
Dr. Joe Dispenza – he is the reason I am so happy and have the knowledge that my future dreams can become a reality.
Barbara O’Neill – she is the world’s number 1 health expert and I would love to be a participant in conversations between both of them!
What’s your secret weapon?
Organisational skills and trust in the fact that we are what we think.
Do you have a favourite mantra?
“Do as you would be done by” Put yourself in the other person’s shoes.
One thing you had to bring to Spain and could never give away?
Having lived in Spain for 43 years and moved home many times, I cannot say I have still anything physical that I brought with me since 1982, but respect comes to mind.
Do you have a favourite book?
“Becoming Supernatural” by Dr. Joe Dispenza. It is live changing, because when read with sincere interest it can literally change our lives for the better.
Something you would tell your younger self?
Whenever you arrive at a crossroads, trust your intuition; give yourself time to reflect and reset and move forwards with emotional intention. You will succeed, albeit not exactly as you envisage.
