Mijas Foreigners Department is offering a HELPLINE INFORMATION SERVICE 660 300 086 – attended in different languages, to inform the foreign community in Mijas about the COVID-19 and State of Alarm situation in general.
Calls asking about the coronavirus and the State of Alarm situation in general will be answered in English, German Danish, Swedish and Norwegian Monday – Friday from 10:00H – 18:00H
The councillor for Foreigners, Arancha López (Ciudadanos), announced that the department has enabled this HELPLINE to attend to the foreign population in Mijas Municpality who does not speak Spanish in everything related to the coronavirus and the State of Alarm situation in general.
“In our municipality we have a high percentage of citizens from other countries who do not speak our language and are very uncertain about everything that is happening. With this measure, we intend to help them and provide them with all the information we have at such difficult times for all citizens”, explained the councillor for the Foreigners department.
Therefore all non spanish speaking foreigners in Mijas can contact the number 660 300 086 to receive all the general information about the COVID-19 and State of Alarm situation in different languages “On this number, foreigners can ask about the measures of the Central Government, restrictions of the State of Alarm, measures and restictions taken by the local goverment in Mijas, preventive actions against the coronavirus, where to call in emergencies and be attended in other languages, everything related to this pandemic in our country”, added Arancha López.
The councillor stressed that “the department also offers translation work in this area such as translation for Red Cross professionals who at any given time have to attend to a foreigners who does not speak Spanish”.
In addition to this specific HELPLINE number during the State of Alerm, the Foreigners department continues to offer a general attention on its usual telephone number (952 589 010) from 9am to 2pm, as well as via the email frd@mijas.es.
