Following her family heritage has brought a life in Spain for Nora Pando. After nearly 23 years in the USA, she is embracing her culture and settling into her new home in Los Boliches, Fuengirola. Discover her story!

Why Spain?

My family heritage and coming back to live in my own culture after living almost 23 years in the USA.

And where are you now?

I live in Los Boliches, Fuengirola – I love it here as I am a fan of walking and it’s so close to everything.

What was the biggest challenge for your move?

Leaving behind my youngest daughter and losing my little Yorkie (Teddy) due to sickness after having him for 14 years.

Do you have any advice for Women thinking about making the move?

Go for it! Changes should be for your own benefit and to make you stronger.

How do you spend your days? 

I love reading, walking, assembling miniature settings and handicrafts.

What is something spectacular you would like to achieve in just one day?

Have my three children together in one place.

Something you are grateful for?

My children and moving to Spain.

Who would be at your special dinner party?

Gandhi, John F. Kennedy, Einstein, Monet, Bach, George Clooney ;), Celine Dion and some others. Why? Because it would be interesting to talk with all of them on their area of expertise and learn more.

What’s your secret weapon?

Loyalty.

My family pictures.

Do you have a favourite film or book?

Somewhere in Time (I’m dating myself, hahaha) because I’m a romantic, and books? So many, like the Nightingale and many others

Something you would tell your younger self?

Things happen for a reason.
