Strengthening the pelvic floor

I have a secret… and you? I never thought how important it is to have a strong Pelvic floor. I never thought how important it is to exercise the Pelvic Floor muscles.

Only after suffering with loss of bladder control (luckily very mildly, but still a loss…) after having my third child, I understood that it is not normal to go on like this. And I’ve been practicing Pilates for 12 years till then! How can this happen to me? Well, far too many women suffer with incontinence issues because of a lack of education on the importance of their pelvic floor and why Kegel exercises are so important. Unfortunately, many women suffer in silence because they are unaware that they can actually do something to improve this. The pelvic floor is a muscle like any other and it needs to be exercised routinely. There are many different products out there which you can choose from to workout your Pelvis floor. But to have an actual class that encourages women to wear their Kegel weights while doing specific Pelvis floor exercises, well this is unique!
By wearing your Kegel weights during a Pilates class, you can achieve an effective Pelvic floor workout. The Kegel weights ensure that you are exercising the correct Pelvic floor muscles. Combining both the Kegel weights and the Pilates exercises will ensure faster results and better outcome.

Whether you are suffering from Urinary Incontinence, Pelvis organ prolapse or Bladder Weakness, no matter your age, there is a solution!

If you are looking to improve this issue and to achieve successful outcome fast, there is an answer!

Pelvic floor muscles, just like any other muscles, can be made stronger with the right exercises. It is important to have your pelvic floor muscle training checked by an expert such as a Pelvic floor physiotherapist or a continence nurse advisor.

Kegel exercises work differently for each person. Some people show great improvement in muscle control and urinary continence. However, Kegels may prevent your condition from getting worse.

Disclaimer – the author is not a doctor nor a Pelvis floor therapist. Before starting the classes and using the Kegel weights it is advised to consult your physician or Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist.

If you have been told you have a prolapse, these experts are the best people to help plan a pelvic floor muscle training program to suit your needs.

This option is one of the many solutions that exist in the market and it is not to say that is the best one for everyone. In addition, it is important not to overdo Kegel exercises.
