So where does it all start? Hormone imbalance begins when the estrogen level drops slightly followed by the progesterone, which actually drops further, then the estrogen starts to fall again and the progesterone follows suit, but again it falls lower than the level of the estrogen. Simple, but true, this is how we become Hormonally Unbalanced. This does not happen to every women of course but this is the pattern and before long we are eventually “estrogen dominant” which is where most of the problems lie with hormonal issues today.
This can start at any ages, as early as 35 years old, but normally around the age of 48-50. So now we must establish what has caused this to happen and what we can do about it. We need to really understand ourselves and buy a diary, “a diary” I can hear you saying, yes, you must keep notes on the following. If you ate anything different to the usual, how you felt, what you drank that day and if it was alcohol, follow this for 2 months, you will see a pattern. You must also write down how you feel at the end of that day. Bear in mind what your activities were that day. This is the beginning, my following blogs will help you have a clearing understanding of how to control your hormone levels by yourself and treat yourself with alternative therapies. To understand more about Hormone Balance diets, Dr. John Lee has written many books on hormone balance and they all include a section on diet and what we should eat and what we should avoid.
