The Greatest Woman I Know
Strength can be defined in many ways. For instance, strength can be referred to as the power or courage to overcome certain obstacles. It can also be defined as the mental power to go through strenuous situations without breaking down. However, when I think of the word strength, I would best define it as “a woman.” To me, this is because a mother is the greatest epitome of strength in the entire universe. Strength is not bought or acquired; it is that natural courage that kicks in when we are faced with very difficult situations, yet we have to go though them with courage. It is a natural instinct that makes us keep going on and pushing for what we want even when we feel we are about to break down. My mother taught me the meaning of strength. She taught me that it takes a strong woman to be a mother and to love like one. My earliest recollection of my mother is her feeding me. She has been my provider since I was in her womb. She had been carrying me tirelessly for nine months and putting up with nausea, stretch marks, and countless sleepless nights. She had never given up despite many times I had been spitting the food out and refusing to eat. She would cook for me every day; at that time I was too young to understand her motives, but now I know it was out of love. Day in, day out, she had been going through the same routine, sometimes forgetting to eat herself because she knew I needed to grow. Apart from food, she had also been providing me with shelter and other material things that I needed but could not get on my own. She has been like my guardian angel since conception because she wanted me to be the best essay master. My mother is a fighter. She brought me up on her own. So many times I witnessed her struggle to make ends meet just to give my sister and me a better life. I have always wanted her to be proud of me. I could hear her cry on several occasions in the comfort of the bathroom, and then she would come out smiling to reassure us. I believe it took her a lot of strength to get through the days. She had been struggling with me since I was an infant: she had been getting me to sleep at her expense, crying over and comforting me when I was sad, and reassuring me when things were getting bad. My mother is my hero and my trainer. I have seen her fighting so many battles for me. I have also seen her solving problems that seemed so big just so I could grow up into the person I am today. I remember the times she had to punish me to teach me a lesson so I could become a disciplined and upright individual, even though I knew it was so hurtful for her to see me cry. She had been struggling to get me through school over the years not because she had all the money in the world, but because she had a dream for me that she wanted to see come true. My mum trained me to be a noble person. She taught me the value of discipline and the importance of respect, honor, and trust. She taught me that I must have hope in life and I must have a dream to keep me going in the right direction. My mother is always there when I need her. I know for a fact that my life would have been completely different if it would not be for her. From the day I was born, she had been there carrying for and protecting me from the harsh world that was waiting. With her love, she made sure no harm was coming my way. She had sacrificed her own freedom and life to raise me into the person I am today. I cannot recall a day in my life when I came to her, and she turned me away empty-handed. She made sure to give me the best part of her life, when she was young and the most energetic. Today, while she is older and less active, I feel like I have robbed her of her best years which she had dedicated to bringing me up. However, she always reminds me that a mother can do anything for her child because it is her purpose on earth. Finally, my mother has proved to be my best friend and advisor. The best choices that I have made in my life may be attributed to her advice over the years. One thing I am always sure and confident about is that my mother always wants the best for me. Although our ideologies may at times clash, her advice has been a constant guide throughout my life and has influenced the formation of the person I am today. To conclude, my mother is a strong woman. It does not refer to physical strength alone. Her small frame tends to fool many, but she has the heart of a great warrior. I have never seen her give up on me. Even when I was going through terrible phases of life she was there for me. She instilled good character in me, and she is the reason that I am in college now. She had been relentless to make sure I got the best out of life. Although her income was small, she had been taking me to the best schools and hospitals around, and she had always put my needs before hers. As I have grown up, watching her made me realize how much I want to be like her. It made me want to have her fighting spirit even when times are tough. It also made me appreciate all that she has ever done for me. Being a mother is a calling; my mother has embraced it wholeheartedly, and I have never had any doubt about her intentions. Any woman can conceive and give birth, but a few can become mothers because being a mother is a lifetime commitment.

Costa Women Meet ... Claudia Roth
This week we meet Claudia Roth who left the world of luxury hospitality and traded in her globe-trotting career for a more holistic life.  While on business to India at an ashram in Pondicherry in the south of India, her mainstream ideological belief of self was altered.  It proved to be a significant turning point in her life.  Read more of her story   Did you choose Spain, or did Spain choose you? Spain is my soul home where I allow myself to rest in my own presence.   Where are you based? I am based in between London & Elviria spending more time here … gradually!   What was the biggest challenge for your move? The biggest challenge is saying goodbye to Spain, but now I book my flight back before I leave though the last time this was not a guarantee to return (as we all know!)   What is your advice for Women thinking about making the move? Follow your heart and only then follow your head.   How do you spend your days in Spain? It was at the height of my high-fly corporate career working in luxury hospitality that I arrived at a turning point. An unplanned meeting in the forest of a spiritual community in the south of India presented me with a vague notion that I was about to depart from the highway of business success. Little did I know that my life was to radically change and it continues to radically change as I follow my heart! During the onset of the pandemic I felt the need for conversations to make sense of what was happening in my mind and in the world. I followed my intuition, invited my network for a (digital) cup of coffee one Friday morning in March 2020. This was the start of something I never expected, dreamt of or had planned. 15 women wrote their life stories with so much courage and vulnerability. We held space for each other with much love and from a place of empowerment. We were courageous enough to go public. I AM EVERY WOMAN Trials, Tribulations, Triumphs and Discoveries: a collection of extraordinary life journeys was launched and is travelling internationally. These women wrote with a mission to connect with themselves, and with EVERY WOMAN who wants to embrace her own strength and courage.     Thanks to Ali’s introduction Celine of Love Yourself Project is featuring I AM EVERY WOMAN in her September book club. There is more to me but I believe this is enough.     I am of course happy to answer any questions.   Tell us something you are grateful for? I am grateful for many things in my life!   Who would you invite to your special dinner party? Oh dinner parties! I would invite a handful of “Goddesses” which I call my very special friends. We arrive dressed in white, look beautiful and sit around an open fire in the middle of nature singing, dancing, drumming and telling us stories. We laugh a lot. Food is homemade.     What is your secret weapon? If you do what you love you just do it!   Favourite quote and why? I have so many! It depends on my mood. Don’t beat yourself up while you learn in the school of life. I can’t recall who said it; it could even be me πŸ™‚   One thing you had to bring to Spain and could never give away? Good question! I travel around the world with a crystal.   Favourite book and why? The book which has had the biggest impact on my life 20 years ago now is The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.   Something you would tell your younger self? Yep! Just to do it …   Where can we find out more? www.soul-luxury.com   Thank you for sharing your story Claudia!   If you want to share YOUR story with us, please complete the online questionnaire here

Costa Women Meet .. Kiran Raichura
Deciding it was now or never for Spain, meet Kiran who moved herself and her beauty (inside and out) business to Mijas. Kiran believes its important to live with responsibility and allow your intuitions to guide.  Read her story   Why Spain? I felt a real pull to move here when I visited here in 2012. I looked at it seriously in 2014 but was driven off the track. When my best friends moved here a couple of years ago my desire to move here got reignited with a bit of push from them. I realised that Brexit can complicate things so, felt it’s now or never in the last summer. So, I wound down my work and moved here in October 2020.   Where is now home? I am based in Mijas Costa, Spain. I am still not very fluent with Spanish. Being an advanced beauty and aesthetics therapist and a tutor, I realised that there are more English speakers in coastal area than the inland and it will be better for me to communicate about my work, more opportunities for my kind of business in coastal area. Being near the sea is always an advantage and third but not the last reason, I love walking and the fact that I can walk on coastal path to work is a great advantage. Sunny weather, lightness in the air and chilled lifestyle are extra attractions.     What has been your biggest challenge for the move? The whole process was very much of a flow. However, not knowing the language and laws of a new land, I had to allow professionals like Anne Hernandez to take care of my residency application, likes of Ali Meehan gave me tips for my business setting up process and making new friends in the area did help.   What would be your advice for women thinking about making the move? Feel the real reason why you moving here and research through joining social media and various other networking sites. Ask the community if you have any questions, anxiety or uncertainty about anything. Don’t rush into making a decision until it feels true in your heart and you are mostly certain about it.   How do you spend your days? I love writing my journal and transformation I experienced through my practice of The Way of The Livingness. I am a self explorer and I live meditatively. I have set up a practice called Evolve health and beauty at the London & Co hairdressers in la Cala Where I do various advanced beauty and aesthetic therapies such as; non-surgical face lifts, acne and scar reduction, rosacea, thread vein and pigmentation reduction, laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation, skin tags and other unsightly lesion removal and more…. The other side of my business is health, where I provide self care talks and programmes, healings, healing massages and nutrition tips. I also have a life coach, Sharon Wright, working with me to provide care of your inner unfolding process, should you choose to come to her.   Something you have achieved and are grateful for? I have always been a self employed therapist. I have moved to different places in the UK and ran very successful practices in Leicester, Chippenham, Bath and Nottingham. This is my 9th business in la Cala and it’s taking off. A great confirmation of my movements within the universal flow….   Your dinner party – who would you invite? At my dinner party, I would love to invite Ms Alice A Bailey, a great theosophical writer. She would bring her vast knowledge to enlighten the guests and I would serve everyone a soul nourishing buffet with lots of vegetables – stir fried, with some light protein dishes. My second guest would be Pythagoras, who is mainly famous about his equation in mathematics but him also being a teacher of ageless wisdom, His presence in my party would bring the settlement for everyone and will turn into a counsel of wisdom. I would serve him simple and non- stimulating drinks such as pure plant and fruit juices. Gandhi would me my third guest who is my hero for standing up for truth without violence, showing true brotherhood without holding back. I would love to serve him with basic Indian food, chapatis, vegetable curry and onion salad, which Indian poor people can afford. And last but not least, my lovely friends and family. Their love has given me standing and their support and training has allowed me to get where I am today. I would cook lots of lovely variety of vegetarian, spicy and flavoursome food for them.   Your secret weapon? Love is my tool, I love all, inclusively. I love my job, people I work with, my clients, providing treatments, cooking and all I do.   Your favourite quote? ‘Everything is everything and nothing is nothing’ is my quote. We know everything is energy and everything happens because of energy. So when we feel something and say it’s nothing, that is not true.   One thing you had to bring to Spain with you? I had to bring my fabulous equipment for my treatments. I would not be able to work without them πŸ™‚   Favourite book and why? ‘Treatise on consciousness’ – a book written by Serge Benhayon. I am very much interested in how consciousness is formed and perceived. This book showed me how consciousness works, energetically, and the way to understand it from the depth of my heart. My feelings matter and how to acknowledge and apply them to practical life.   Something you would tell your younger self? Feeling guilty is futile. Live with responsibility and allow your intuitions to guide.   Where can we find out more?
